- Thoracic Vertebral Levels
- T1: Located at the base of the neck, just below the prominent C7 vertebra (“vertebra prominens”).
- T3: Roughly at the level of the medial end of the scapular spine.
- T3 is the vertebra is considered the cervicothoracic inflection point, the point where cervical lordosis becomes thoracic kyphosis
- T7: Lies opposite the inferior angle of the scapula when the arm is held by the side.
- Drawing a line from one scapular tip to another best approximates the T7 lamina when radiographs cannot be used due to patient size or x-ray quality.
- T12: Found just above the lower margin of the rib cage; demarcates the thoracolumbar junction.
