- Can be accompanied by altered lacrimation and taste sensations
Mechanism
- Usually due to vascular compression (AICA) of nervus intermedius
- Caused by herpes zoster
Treatment
- MVD but can also consider transection of nervus intermedius
- Evidence base is minimal due to rarity of condition
