Sepsis

Two or more of:
-Temperature >38°C (100.4°F) or <36°C (96.8°F)
- Heart rate >90, RR >20 or PaCO₂ <32 mmHg, white blood cells >12 or <4 or >10% bands

Systemic inflammatory response syndrome + source of infection

Sepsis + organ dysfunction (lactic acidosis, SBP <90)

Sepsis with refractory hypotension (SBP <90 or MAP <70 despite fluid challenge with 30 ml/kg crystalloid)

Dysfunction of two or more organ systems
