  • The ventral ramus of the L5 nerve root (black asterisks) was dissected along its course from the intervertebral foramina to the lesser pelvis.
    • The L5 nerve root exited the intervertebral foramina, passed through the craniolateral side of the S1 anterior foramina (dashed white line) on the ala of the sacrum, and joined with the S1 nerve root (white asterisk) to form the lumbosacral plexus.
    • The angle of the L5 nerve root changed at the most anterior surface of the ala of the sacrum (black arrow), which is the sacral part of the linea terminalis.
