- degenerative changes in the spine (disc, uncovertebral/facet joints, and ligaments) occurring naturally with age.
- Spondylolysis
- indicates a defect in the pars interarticularis which may lead to spondylolisthesis.
- Spondylolisthesis
- one vertebral body slips with respect to the adjacent vertebral body causing radicular or mechanical symptoms or pain
